Audiovisual integration involves...vestibular considerations?

Our everyday perception requires an efficient reconciliation of data from multiple senses. As humans, we are particularly sensitive to auditory and visual data -- curiously, it seems that audiovisual data are 'made sense of' through probing another system: the vestibular system.
